In Year 5 we have had the literacy topic of movies and narratives. For the last week of the topic in homework we had to make an original movie to show to the class. I did a movie called
‘The Killer Ketchup’ which is about a ketchup that goes around killing people but a hero comes and stops it before it is too late.

Year 5 at the Movies!
We saw some films and some of them had sacrifice as a theme, we studied things like the sound and camera and colours that are used. We learnt about things like sequencing, flashbacks and symbolism and we are even going to try to make our own films and animated books.
Here are the films we watched:

The Danish Poet
Sebastian's Voodoo

The Windmill Farmer

What a wonderful place to live!
We finished our eco cities, it was great fun but also challenging to make the cities. We tried to include lots of eco features. What do you think to our cities?

Our ECO city
Year 5 is planing to build a ECO city model. We want to inclood: solar pannels, less buses less airports, no factories and other natural things. We are making the city because we know that there are much to much factories and other things that are not good for the environment. There is one that's in Sweden. The environment is planing to do one in China and Abu Dhabi.

What a Waste!
As part of our Climate Change work, we have been looking at waste disposal! Even the best recyclers will still have about 20 - 30% of waste that cannot be recyclable! At the moment there are 3 main methods of waste disposal; landfills, incinerators and composting, we have looked at the pros and cons of each method and suggested our own unique solutions to this problem!
See what you think to our ideas
